Hola! I’m glad you’re here at WPA with me. I have loved Wasatch Peak since the moment we enrolled our 4 children here after homeschooling for 10 years. I’ve always been heavily involved in my children’s education and quickly got on the substitute list. When the opportunity arose to help with the school musical, I dramatically leapt at it and don’t plan on letting it go anytime soon. Now I have the absolute pleasure of teaching Spanish. I learned to speak this beautiful language at a Girl’s College in Toluca, Mexico. Every job I have ever had, I got because I speak Spanish. It truly is a passion of mine. When I’m not at school, you might find me on my farm with my husband and children, riding my horse, on the stage in a play or with my jazz band, baking or arranging flowers. The connections with children and teachers alike have been invaluable to me. I hope you love WPA as much as I do.

¡Hola! With a passion for education that dates back to 1998 in South America, I initiated my journey as a teacher’s assistant in my youth and later transitioned to a teaching role. Over the years, I've had the privilege of teaching both adults and children of all ages. For the past 5 years, my focus has been on nurturing young minds as a bilingual preschool teacher. I strongly believe in the fundamental right of every child to receive a quality education, and I'm thrilled to be a part of the inspiring educational community at Wasatch Peak Academy.

Math Specialist
Mr. Thorpe has a passion for learning and taking on challenges! As an educator, he believes that we grow best by getting our hands dirty (literally or metaphorically) by using what we learn in real ways. He took a bit of a winding path to get to WPA, starting out studying astrophysics, then pursuing a career in martial arts before deciding that he wanted a real challenge - early childhood education. After graduating from the University of Utah, he taught in grades 1-3 at a Montessori charter school (where students called him Mr. Alden, so he may get confused sometimes). He then stepped into the roles of gifted and talented director and computer science specialist before coming to WPA as the math specialist.
